It was an unbelievable experience to partner with Princess Cruises for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

Today not only am I sharing this delightful and stunning Nojito drink, my favorite drink aboard the Ruby, but I am also sharing one of the highlights while on the 7-Day Mexican Riviera Princess Cruise. I can’t wait to share the rest of my experiences while aboard the cruise; don’t worry I will be sharing some tips too. But I honestly couldn’t wait to share this drink, I had at least 2 a day, and my favorite part of the ship, The Sanctuary.

My first hour on the cruise I had a drink in hand. Of course I got the classic Virgin Pina Colada, pool side with my friend Courtney.

It wasn’t until later that afternoon that I tried the Nojito and swooned over this drink the entire rest of the week.

I love how fruity it was. I used to enjoy drinking Mojitos, but since I no longer drink alcohol (personal choice), I was thrilled to see that the Ruby had so many “fun” drinks to choose from. Not only that but if you wanted something, just ask and they will be sure to whip it up.

{TIP: if you are headed on a Princess Cruise check out all of their drink packages. There are a variety to choose from, but trust me if you buy a package you will save money! Click here to check out the packages.}

The thing that I found different about Ruby Princess Nojito {Mocktail} was that it had grapefruit in it. The mint was still the star but I loved the addition of grapefruit. So when I recreated this drink I added grapefruit, lemon, and lime!

The mint just adds the touch of sweetness that balances this entire drink.

Now let me get back to the best part of this post, The Sanctuary. Princess Cruise Lines promotes the Sanctuary to be “An Ocean of Calm on Princess Ships” and that it was. Secluded, calm, quiet, and peaceful, The Sanctuary offered many elements to let their guests get swept away. The Sanctuary was not only a haven for our group but several others as well, so be sure to make your reservation for a spot, so that you have someplace to go, lay-down and relax. Spots are filled quickly, so be sure to do this after you get settled.

Not only were you pampered in the Sanctuary but they hosted a Tea every afternoon. I loved the little treats that they served. I may have eaten my share or enough for 5, I really can’t remember (wink, wink).

Besides teatime and refreshing drinks, they had lighter and healthier versions of some of my favorites appetizers and snacks. The one I ordered every time was the Creamy Salsa Dip and luckily for you, my friend Sandy from Reluctant Entertainer already has the recipe on her blog. Be sure to go and check it out. Pictured below was what it looked like on the cruise.

Now having 5 young kids myself, I love that the Ruby Princess was incredibly kid and family-friendly. But if you wanted a place free from noise, crowds or just every cruise business, The Sanctuary is your refuge. From providing guests with one-of-a-kind service from a chilled face towel and Evian water atomizers (amazingly refreshing), food and drinks. You could even get massages!  The Sanctuary will be apart of every Princess Cruise line experience I have in the future because I loved it that much.

So today, I think I will be making another batch of these Nojitos and be dreaming of my lying in the chair with the ocean breeze in my face, instead of at home with 4 out of the 5 of my kids who are out of school for a teacher workday.

Enjoy this Ruby Princess Nojito {Mocktail} -a fruity-mint mocktail that is delightfully refreshing.

How do you make a Ruby Princess Nojito {Mocktail}?

  • Chop mint leaves.
  • Cut all the fruit into quarters.
  • In a pitcher squeeze in grapefruit, lemon and lime juice. Add ice, sugar and mint leaves.
  • Pour in sparkling mineral water and stir to combine. I like to let it sit 10-minutes before I serve.
  • Top with grapefruit and lime slices.
  • Serve with a sprig of mint on top. Enjoy!
