One of our absolute favorite appetizers are these chicken wings with a sticky sauce. I have a couple of chicken wing recipes on the blog, but these Asian chicken wings are always requested by the kids for parties and game nights.

These wings have more flavor and less spice, so they’re definitely kid-friendly. But you can still call them spicy if you want, thanks to the little tickle from the chili garlic sauce. The small kick of heat is perfectly balanced by the sweet and tangy components in the sauce. Add in the tender meat with the crispy skins, and you get the most amazing chicken wings.

I can promise they will be an instant family favorite at your house, too.

Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then open the oven and rub wings around in the sauce using a set of tongs. Close the oven and bake for another 10 minutes. Again re-coat the wings with the sauce from the pan, and turn the oven to a low broil.

Broil for 3-5 minutes, stir, then broil again for 5-7 minutes. Be sure to watch the wings while they broil, so that they do not burn. At this point, the sauce should be thickened.

  1. I’m all about any excuse to make wings…and a Big Hero 6 movie night this weekend sounds like the perfect excuse. We’ve been hit with a ton of snow here in New York, and I think a movie night + wings needs to be on the agenda. Thanks for sharing! #client
