Cranberry Bliss Rolls
So for those who know me, know that I declare it the holiday season when Starbucks comes out with their holiday cups. You know the treasured red ones?! Sigh. I love when they come out. And from that point on it is all about the holidays, I even start playing my Christmas music. One of the many things I love about holidays and Starbucks is that they bring out some of my favorite things, for example: “chestnuts roasting on an open fire”, I love that song; along with the Chestnut Praline Steamer. I love eggnog, steamed or cold…doesn’t matter!

And I love red! The color for Christmas! I love how joyful it seems to make everything, even in the department stores. Red ribbons, ornaments, and Rudolph’s nose just bring smiles. And then you add in the Cranberry Bliss Bars from Starbucks, oh, yeah, my favorite holiday splurge!

This year when I was thinking about making them again, I thought why not try it with a twist. So I took my favorite holiday treat and made it into a sweet roll. Let me tell you… it… is… AMAZING! Better than I could have imagined. It has the white chocolate chunks, dried tart cranberries, and the signature cream cheese frosting. This is one very merry holiday season and this is just one of my presents to you.

How do you make Cranberry Bliss Sweet Rolls?

Sweet Rolls
  • Place a large saucepan or Dutch oven over low heat. Add in the milk, oil and granulated sugar until it starts to get warm but not boiling, you can use a candy thermometer, it should be 125 degrees F. If it overheats, let it cool until it reaches the right temperature.

  • Remove from the heat, and sprinkle the yeast over the warm milk. Then add 4 cups of flour on top of the yeast, making sure to cover the milk and yeast with the flour. Stir until well combined.

  • Cover and let it rise for 1 hour. Once it has raised for 1 hour, stir in a 1/2 cup flour, the baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir together then immediately roll out.

  • On a lightly floured surface roll the dough into a long rectangle. I like to make it as thin as possible.

  • In a small bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the dough, use your hands to spread.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the butter, once again used your fingers to spread it out. Top with chocolate chips and dried chopped cranberries.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long end, pinching edges closed when completely rolled.
  • Slice dough into 12 rolls, about 3/4-1 inch thick slices. Place into a buttered 9×13 pan, let them rise for 20-30 minutes.

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Bake 20 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool while you prepare the frosting.
Glaze
  • Using your electric mixer again, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth.

  • Once the rolls have cooled and are not hot to the touch, spread the frosting evenly over the rolls and top with the 1/4 cup of dried cranberries.

  • Serve, devour, and enjoy!
