These Caramel Brownie Muddy Buddies are a delicious and addictive caramel-coated snack that offers a new twist to classic muddy buddies
One of our favorite summer snacks to take to the pool is the classic Muddy Buddies. I rarely stray from the original recipe because it is so good. But a few weeks ago while my kids were coming up with ideas for recipes, one of their friends suggested Brownie Muddy Buddies.
Everyone screamed with excitement. So this immediately became a must make. When I went to the store to grab the ingredients, I passed the candy aisle and Rolo candies instantly caught my eye, I knew that using this with the brownie mix would make it even better! Oh, I just got goosebumps.
Taking this to the pool? Stick in a plastic container with a lid and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more. This will chill it and keep ii cool in the cooler, so that it doesn’t instantly melt, this way you can still enjoy it without sticky hands.
This recipe is unreal, addictive and oh yea, when you make them, maybe do a double batch. Our single batch was gone in an instant.
Enjoy! XOXO San
How do you make Caramel Brownie Muddy Buddies?
-
In a large paper bag add brownie mix and powdered sugar, set aside. I use just over 1/4 cup of powdered sugar but add as much as you prefer.
-
Add cereal into a large bowl, set aside.
-
In a small saucepan, add butter and Rolo candies. Stir continuously until completely melted. Immediately pour over cereal and mix until all pieces are coated with caramel chocolate.
-
Pour coated cereal into the paper bag with the brownie mix. Fold top over of paper bag and “shake it like a Polaroid picture”.
-
Once completely covered, pour the Muddy Buddies into a serving bowl. Serve and enjoy!

Kids review: While the kids loved it! And instantly were obsessed and fighting over the ones that stuck together, because they had more caramel. It was my husband who surprised me. He normally is not a fan at all for Muddy Buddies, but he LOVED this. He said they were amazing and that he couldn’t believe how good they were. I was shocked, he is a big fan…yahoo!
